Selecting a guipure pattern

The existing Hongfei Lace 85 Series collection introduces floral and openwork lace patterns. Start with the appearance you want in the finished garment, then send a reference image or identify the pattern you are reviewing. Ask for the current style reference and sample availability before specifying an order.

Consider motif scale and attachment

Compare the pattern with the garment area where it will be used. Note the sewing area, edge shape and whether the design is intended as a continuous trim or a separate decorative detail. Ask for measured dimensions and evaluate the physical sample with the intended fabric.

Guipure, crochet and water-soluble lace terminology

Crochet describes a loop-based construction, while guipure commonly describes lace with motifs joined by bars or connections instead of a continuous net ground. Water-soluble lace refers to a production approach using a removable water-soluble support. These terms do not prove the fiber content or manufacturing process of an individual product. When comparing suppliers, ask them to identify the construction and process for the exact sample; do not assume every guipure item uses water-soluble backing.

Confirm the specification

Request the fiber composition, finished dimensions and tolerance, color reference, care requirements and feasible custom changes for the selected pattern. Images cannot establish these specifications. Where performance matters, agree how it will be checked before sample approval.
